Marc Trestman won CFL coach of the year. Don't get me wrong, he did a fine job last year. His team had the second best record in the history of the CFL (and should have tied for the best, but the refs screwed him over against BC). He won the Grey cup. He did all this with one of the most talented veteran teams in the history of the CFL. He basically did exactly what he was supposed to. He did it under a ton of pressure, but he did nothing more than what he was supposed to (much like anytime Canada wins a hockey tournament).
Ken Miller should have won the coach of the year just like the Riders should have won the Grey Cup.don't remind me
Ken Miller took a team with a first year starter at QB, O line injuries that would have been unbelievable except the year before the Rider's injuries were even worse, and with off field issues due to a GM with "Roman Hands".
"mmmmm Robaxicet....wait, you're not the babysitter!"
They were supposed to finish dead last, and won the first Western Conference championship in 33 years. Arguements can be made for Trestman, but lets face facts, Trestman played in the weaker East, had a hell of a lot more to work with, and was out coached in the Grey Cup and only won because of unbelievable luck.
"I SAID DON'T REMIND ME!"
Lets just give the trophy to the coach that wins the Grey Cup when the Grey Cup MVP and MVC awards are given out and skip the middle man.
